I am looking forward to a new year. Uniteens and YRUU will be meeting at 11:15 on Sundays. There will be no meetings on three-day weekends. Please attend the service during those dates. All Uniteens and YRUU are invited to join the 11:00 service and will be dismissed with the rest of RE. The balcony will be available for our youth during this time.
I am excited to announce our new Uniteens advisor Amber Ripoll! Amber, Angel, and their two beautiful girls joined our church in April. Before this they were members at the UU church in Albuquerque. Amber is a great contribution to our youth team!
Altar: We will create an altar in both the Uniteens and YRUU rooms. This is a group representation. All youth are encouraged to bring in one item they would like to share in this spiritual representation. Ideas include, but are not limited to: stuffed animals, photos, pictures, paintings, statues, or sculptures. Please do not bring in an item that is valuable. These items should be appropriate for a place of worship to display.
Movie Night: We will be holding our movie nights again on the 1st Friday of every month. These movies are rated PG and are fun for everyone! Bring your popcorn, friends, and family! Everyone is always welcome.
Message Boards: Please check the bulletin boards outside our rooms for information and requests. I do not know what CONS will occur this year. I will communicate on the boards as I learn more. We are currently in need of couch covers, plants, armchairs, and pillows. Please do not donate anything without asking me first. We are taking pride in our rooms and want them to be both clean and inviting.
Bake Sale: Anyone can contribute. We appreciate all who help us! All contributions are reimbursable; please bring your wonderful TREATS on Sundays by 10:00 a.m.
We need more contributions for our human scavenger hunt! We really need more participants to make this a reality, please share your stories!
REQUEST TO OUR CONGRATION: I am planning a human scavenger hunt for the kids. This will provide our youth an opportunity to converse with the adults during coffee hour. If you have a fun story about yourself please share it with us; the kids would love to find you! Expect to have numerous kids approaching you and asking questions.
FOR EXAMPLE- “They were 18 and dated for one week before running off to Las Vegas and getting married. WHO WHERE THEY?” or “This person won a contest for eating their weight in ice cream. WHO WAS IT?”
