Book Discussion: “Storms of My Grandchildren” by Dr. James Hansen

Dr. Hansen, the nation’s leading climatologist, has been warning humanity about the coming global catastrophe since 1980. He has tirelessly amassed data, made climate predictions which have come to pass repeatedly, addressed our Congress and other world governments, spoken out often against ineffectual remedies (like Cap and Trade) dictated by special interests, and argues for the complete phase out of all coal. He explains why we must get our carbon dioxide levels below 350 parts per million because if we don’t, the earth will experience a global meltdown resulting in the horrific storms of the book’s title. While he paints a devastating picture, he is also an optimist and says we have time if we can get our governments to match policy with science.
