Covenant Circles

Have you ever needed someone to just listen to what you have to say, without offering you advice or telling you how to “fix it?”  Have you ever wanted to connect to people in our congregation on a deeper level than is possible in Coffee Hour?

Perhaps Covenant Circles are what you’ve been looking for!  This small group ministry program of our church is where people gather in groups of 5-10 individuals to experience the spiritual practice of deep listening and sharing within a covenant.  Our regular circles meet during the church year, October-May.

Open Circles will last 90 minutes, using the deep listening process with a reading or music, check-in, a topic for sharing, and a checkout at the end. Contact Jess Cullinan for more information. View a list of Covenant Circle Readings.

Family Game Nights

The membership committee would like YOU to join us for one or all of our monthly game nights. Members, friends, and visitors of all ages (seniors, families, singles, teens, young children) are invited. We’ll play our favorite board and card games while we chat and get to know each other. This is a fun, intergenerational gathering and very casual so come when you can and leave when you need to. See the Happenings event page for upcoming dates.

Knife and Fork

Knife and Fork is a group of couples that get together once a month for dinner. There are four couples that meet at a host’s home. The host provides appetizers and wine; others bring the main dish, vegetables and bread, and dessert. Each month the couples change allowing folks to have dinner with many others over the course of the year. Knife and Fork is an excellent way to meet people in the church community in a relaxed, unhurried setting, and to enjoy some incredible meals.

Winter Solstice Celebration

Brighten the longest night of the year with your friends and family as we sing, share food and hot drinks, and participate in a spiral walk. As we start our celebration under the night sky in darkness we recognize our interdependence with each other, our need to rely on each other and our desire to be grateful for mutual care. Each of us, lighting and placing a candle along the evergreen spiral brightens the night and dispels thoughts of a bleak mid-winter. We celebrate the return of light with this spiral walk knowing that new life will come again as the days lengthen and warmth returns. Afterwards, join your friends for hot drinks, snacks and carol singing!
