Welcome!

We are engaged in shared ministry with parents and other members of this congregation to create experiences that help children and youth discover their strengths and their gifts within the context of a caring and mentoring community. We hope that through participation in the religious exploration program children, youth and their families will find great joy, balance and inspiration to model lives of integrity and service.

If you’re thinking of visiting with children and youth…

We have services at 9 and 11 am and RE classes from 10-11 am for preschool-high school. Infants and toddlers up to age 3 are welcomed into the nursery on the ground floor where safety and a caring environment are stressed.

For the first few Sundays, it’s always a good practice for you to stay with your younger children and experience the class with them. This helps the children feel more secure and allows you a chance to meet the teachers.

  • If you choose to attend 9:00 a.m. service
    • Attend church together. When Time for Ages is over, then children leave with me and either a teen helper of parent volunteer. We will go upstairs from 9:30-9:55 for activities. I will make sure your children get to their RE classes safely.
    • At 10, you either attend forum or have an extended coffee hour. You can of course help in RE as an extra pair of hands.
    • Pick up your child promptly at 11.
  • If you choose to attend the 11:00 a.m. service
    • Bring your child to RE class at 9:55.
    • Either attend forum or have an extended coffee hour until 11.You can of course help in RE as an extra pair of hands.
    • Pick up your child at 10:55 and go to church.
    • After Time for All Ages children can go back upstairs with me and teen helpers or parent volunteers for activities from 11:30-noon. Older kids can of course stay with you.
    • Pick up your child from “childcare” promptly at noon.

We appreciate your completion of a visitor’s form and if you feel like the church is a good fit for you, then please complete a registration form (see link, top right of page) for your children. If you’d like to talk about the RE program with someone before you visit, feel welcome to call the Director of Religious Exploration, De Anna Hoyle at 505-662-2346 or email her at deanna@uulosalamos.org.
